(Working with the History Textbook as a Source of History Knowledge and Forming the History Awareness of School Children) pdf

Abstract: Following article provides information about the history textbook as a historical source. The next part is dedicated to the personality of the Mister Jan Hus and his picture in the minds of Czech public during the last century. The key part is the text analyses of the chapters on the Jan Hus in history textbooks from the foundation of the former Czechoslovakia in 1918 till the end of the socialist regime in 1989 and the questionnaire research focused on contemporary teaching about the personality of the Mister J. Hus from the point of view of Czech history teacher.
