Abstract: The Hungarian Chamber, played in the early modern period an importand role in the Administation of the Kingdom of Hungary. Since its beginnings, worked in its leading official positions several persons from ennobled bourgeois families. The study presents the history and detailed genealogy of the Rakoviczky (Hrachowiczky, Rakovicky) family, originally from Trnava town. The family received noble status from Emperor and Hungarian King Rudolph II. Its most important members were the mayor of Trnava Georgius Rakoviczky the elder († 1604) and his son Georgius the younger († 1657), who held important positions in the Hungarian Chamber for over 35 years. At the peak of his career, he held the post of chamber director.
