Abstract: Chotín (situated in Komárno district) is a well-known archaeological site in southwestern Slovakia, which was settled intensively as early as in prehistoric times. This is attested by rich collections of archaeological finds from several excavations including unique items from various periods. One of the significant sites in the cadaster of this village has been excavated by Peter Romsauer, when he unearthed a polycultural settlement on the southwestern edge of Chotín in the course of three excavation seasons (1977-1979).
