About the Journal

The Studia Historica Nitriensia (SHN) journal publishes original contributions dealing with history, archaeology, museology/museography and related disciplines dealing with historical aspects of particular phenomena and events. Journal is a common project of theScimago Journal & Country RankDepartments of History, Archaeology and Museology of the Faculty of Arts of the Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra which was first issued in 1993. Until 2011, the SHN journal was a periodical collection published annually. Since 2012, it has been a journal published semiannually. Renowned Slovak and foreign authors have published on pages of this journal, e. g. Ivan Kamenec, Eduard Nižňanský, Roman Holec, Herta Tkadlečková, Jozef Vladár, Václav Furmánek, Jörg Konrad Hoensch, Rainer Riemenschneider, Milena Lenderová, Miroslav Hroch, Jan Rychlík, Vladimír Goněc, Alena Bartlová, Katarína Závacká, Michal Barnovský and many others. Besides studies (historical, archaeological or museological), it contains the following sections: materials, discussion contributions, perspectives, reviews and annotations of new literature as well as chronicle with short reports from conferences and meetings.

All content is freely accessible without any charges to the user or their institution. There is no fee for publication.

Studia Historica Nitriensia is available for study in the study hall of the Philosophical Faculty of CPU, Hodžova 1 in Nitra. It is also sold in the e-shop at https://www.uk.ukf.sk/obchod/.
